Healing
Asking everyone to keep my cousin Derrold in you heart. He had a heart attack today and he is only 57. A stent has been put in but he will need bypass surgery tomorrow.
If you would, please send a prayer, light a candle, ask the Gods/Goddesses, whomever you worship, for some help.
Thank you friends.
Peace

Time
has passed and so much has gone on! We went to Florida for a family vacation. It was SO nice, me, hubby, daughter at my dad and step-momma's. Good bonding fun for my daughter and her "new" grandparents.
My dad had surgery on his hip and 4 days later is walking a bit and off to a party tonight. He's 77. Bless his heart!

Vertigo
Ugh. I was SO sick on Monday night (Labor Day) Dizzzzzzy. The it happened. Waves of nausea. All night long. Slept all day Tuesday and all night. Wed early afternoon I finally was able to call my doctor. She was out. So off to urgent care. They sent me to ER. Diagnosis after a Cat Scan? Vertigo.
Still having some issues. Minor, I guess. But it's hard to feel off kilter most of the time.
So, I need to make a follow up visit with my doctor. Especially now that my ears feel like they are "stuffy" and crackle-y.
Anyone else out there with Vertigo?
*sigh*
I am ever so thankful that the Cat Scan was normal.

Thank you all for the thoughts, concerns and healing word for my friend. It is so much appreciated. I saw him today and he looked good, but appeared to be tired. It's just such a shock. He's only 5 years older than I.
On another note, my hubby got a job! he started today and is working at an awesome restaurant that we LOVE! Double goodness!
Peace

Cancer sucks!
Just found out a close friend of mine at work has liver cancer. He is on indefinite leave from work. Apparently, there is not much that can be done. he will be coming in on Monday for a short visit. As I am crying on the phone, he asks me if I am OK.
Why does this happen to the good people when we need them in our lives?

Bucket List
I have always had a bucket list. Waaaaay before the movie came out. I had one in high school and I graduated 30 years (gasp) ago. (Our vacation was to our reunion but that will be another post).
Anyway, 2 of the things on my list have been: 1) Make a quilt and 2) Read the Bible. I have never accomplished either. I took a quilting class with one of my BFF's but never even completed the wall hanging I started in that class. I also have 2 "Read the Bible in a Year" books and was never able to get past Genesis.
I am not a very religious person. When I do go to church I attend a Unitarian Church. Or the old country churches I grew up attending when I was a kid-when I am at home. I am more of a spiritual person. However, I feel it is important to be well rounded, especially when it comes to reading.
I finally found THE quilt I want to make. It is the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt. It has all the colors I adore and it is a Block of the Month Club. I ordered it and have received the book and my first packet. Uh, oh.......
I am not an accomplished seamstress by ANY stretch of the imagination. Just insane. But C (BFF from high school) seems to think I can do it. And if she doesn't, she's not it saying out loud.
As my Grandmother Ethel was a farmer's wife, I have decided to attempt, in conjunction with making the quilt, to read her copy of The Living Bible (Paraphrased) by Tyndale, copyright 1971.
I plan on documenting this in a Julie Powell fashion.

Indianapolis 500
This is just one of the many reasons I am proud to be a Hoosier. The Indianapolis 500.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the facility. Next year, 2011, marks the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 Race.
Unfortunately, I have to work at my second job today. So I will miss 99%. I do, however, get to the see the very beginning of the festivities: National Anthem sung by Jewel, the flyovers, the National Guard and Jim Nabors singing "Back Home Again, in Indiana." He looks pretty good. He's been singing it, at the race, for over 30 years.
I have been to the Time Trials and got to go the the race one year with my family in the 1990's.
Definately, something to add to your bucket list.
