Happy Saturday!!

Sort of. I had a really sharp pain in my knee a few weeks ago. I made an appointment with my doctor and she could tell immediately that I had Joint Effusion. Swollen knee in one area. I had a knee x-ray and she gave me a prescription for an anti-inflammatory (because I was too chicken to get a cortisone shot on the spot). I go back on the 16th and will probably have to have the shot then. I am making my mother go with me since she will be in town (Mommy!!). I will need to be off my feet for 3 weeks from my part time job at the bookstore. My day job involve sitting at the computer. Whee!

On another note this enables me to finish getting all my goodies together for Chris in the Vintage supply swap. We are perfectly paired. Thanks Elizabeth!!!

I received my Spoonflower order. The girl who packed my order made cute comments on my choices. So sweet! I want to make some pillows for our bedroom and some kitchen items. This we site is very, very dangerous.....beware!!!

It's been rough today. A friend and former co-worker passed away yesterday. I have know Bill for 15 years and adored him. He had been hospitalized with a viral infection that had paralyzed him. He had been moved out of ICU and was regaining his movement in his hands. He had a heart attacked and passed yesterday. We shared the same birthday. Exactly 10 years apart.

It's hard to imagine that he is gone. Hard to imagine that I'll no longer receive e-mails asking about the hot weather here in Texas. No more "H&K, Bill"

I know you are in good hands, Bill. I miss you much..

And thank you to my friends that sent prayers. Nothing goes un-noticed.

Upate

So I received an update about my friend. He has had his breathing tube removed, he was moved out of ICU into a regular room. He is talking, but needs a feeding tube for now to get his protein up. He is starting to get feeling back into his hands but not his legs yet.

Such a relief but it has brought some of us friends back together. Life seems to get into the way and we need to prevent that.

Thanks for the prayers. Especially Clare!!

Update

You guys are all so wonderful!!! I recovered from my panic attack, thanks to a day of laundry and cleaning! lol! I start a prescription of medicine due to a high family history of heart issues. Thankfully I have higher than recommended "good" cholesterol.

I enjoyed a Lammas celebration with the Pagan group I joined through the UU church. We made corn.husk dollies. I hope Brigid is not too offended that I have scanned her.

I hope she doesn't mind that I scanned her. She is so much prettier in person! One of our members did a Brigid and baby! Too Cute.

This is such a warm and caring group. I am SO glad I have been befriended.

Went to the Round Rock Express game, pretty much just for the Nolan Ryan statue give away. Wandered around, decided it could still rain (thank you Hurricane Dolly as we need it) and headed off to our favorite Mexican restaurant in town.

Hit the mother load at the Farmers Market Tuesday. Taters, maters, japanese green beans, onions, peppers and oatmeal bread. Also, found a group in Round Rock for fresh dairy from a farm about an 1 1/2 away. My blogger buddy Heather gets her goodies from there. I can't wait to get all signed up!

I keep forgetting to post this. I went to my church's Pagan Circle. There are 2 men so it is not ladies only, but that is OK. The ritual was to honor a group member's cat who recently crossed. We all were able to like a candle in honor of our pets/familiars. After, we told tons of pet stories and then closed the circle.

Yummy food and fellowship followed and then it was time to go home. All of the folks are warm, generous and the most calming set of people I have met in a long time. Some of them are very involved in the Unitarian Church we all attend. All in all it was great and I'll be there for the monthly get togethers!

And who says Monster Job.com doesn't work. My hubby just got a call for an interview. He never even applied! They do look people!

Had lunch with my friend Karen, from high school. It's so nice to have someone here from "home" whom I have known for so long. It was nice. Short but sweet. We are going out to dinner later this month.

Hubby's employers are jerks. Enough said. But he is finally over his illness.

Good news, I got New Moon in paperback today. *sigh* Happiness awaits me. I haven't been this excited to get a sequel since "Flowers in the Attic". Ahhh, summer beach reading in the 80's.

muuuuwahhhh!

Happy Beltane

Or May Day depending on your background!

It has been a whirlwind with the kids here. I am slowly catching up on blogs. Please be patient! I'll get caught up on everyone's soon.

I leave Sunday for Beaumont TX for work. I will be there until Friday so I am packing up tons of reading and crafting, since I will be stuck in a hotel for most of my time. But that's OK!

Loved

You all are so great! And just know that if you are even a semi frequent commentor, it's not you. This is something that happened several months ago. It's just that I worry I may have done something. If I did I am sorry.

We are so excited! Daughter and boyfriend are coming to visit for a long week end. They will be here on the 24th. YAY!

OK I was not successful at finding the picture of my buddha statue with the lit candle BUT the thought is still there.

It has been lit for Sorrow, Sacred Suzie and Lola Enchanted. My friends have been going through some particularly tough times.

But this does not exclude any of my other friends who may be experiencing strife along the road of life.

Faery Swap

A little Faery brought me a gift today! My secret faery is Fancy Silvery Leaf (aka Patty) from Virginia. She is also one of my regular blogging buddies!

I received a nice note from Patty along with a packet of Wildflower seeds, an Apple Orchard scented tart for my warmer, faery stickers, a faery notebook, a dragonfly key chain, a lovely pressed flower bookmark and 5 word charms: peace, dream, hope, love and believe. Now I can make a necklace or something! Thank you Autumn!!!!! Everything is perfect!!

My friend AfricanKelli posted this and I thought it was amazing:

The Four Agreements
By Don Miguel Ruiz and Don Jose Ruiz

1. Be impeccable with your word: speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the truth and love.

2. Don’t take anything personally: nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dreams. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t make assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always do your best: your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are tired as opposed to well-rested. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Some things to think about, huh?

Anyway, I have been away for a couple of reasons. Boredom, depression, but mostly because I was sick. Very sick. The first week end in February. I had a 102.7 fever, coughing and runny nose. General misery. Was able to get into the doctor on that Monday and she kept me home from work until Wednesday.

I am now able to get through most of the day without coughing much.

The other is mostly because, it seems once we start to get ahead and see a pinprick of light, somethinh happens to put us a few steps behind. This too shall pass.

Please note though, I have been keeping up with you all! Thank heavens for google readr!!

End of November

I just got back from a going away party for Riva's sister and mom. They are going back to Taiwan on Wednesday. I feel sad for Riva, I know she will miss them very much. The last time her mom was here, was 3 years ago.

There may be a verbal language barrier, but actions speak louder than words.

I will post pictures tomorrow.

Sayonara

Riva, me, Riva's mom, and her sister Tina

Well, I don't think I made it quite through posting every day, even with my extra posts on the same day.

Wishing everyone a WONDERFUL and safe Thanksgiving.

We are going solo. We have a small turkey breast, salad, mashed potatoes and cornbread stuffing. I will make a pumpkin pie and MAYBE some apple thingies for hubby.

Speaking of, I am so excited, as he is going with me to our book club tonight. He will get to meet all of my new friends.

If it is rerun again, watch the history of the first Tahnksgiving onthe History channel. very interesting.

Ugh!

Why oh Why did I go to the Anthropologie website? I found an awesome blazer I'd LOVE to have. *sigh*

Good news! My friend Donna and her BF are coming to see us in December. I haven't seen her in four years. It'll be a treat to catch up and go out to diiner.

So I went to the quilt store to see if they have the new Wizard of Oz fabric in yet. Late December. But I did snag a really cute purse kit with the sock monkey fabric I have been coveting. it'll be so cute!!!

Faery Mail

My friend Gemma has posted something to me. I can't wait to see what it is! I love it when the faeries drop gifties into my mailbox.

And now that I have my camera phone, I can start taking pictures of stuff.

Reading Group

I joined a book club so to speak here in town. So far we have been bringing poetry. It's at Formosa Art Tea house and it's a lovely place. Riva is an artist and she runs her own tea house. She serves traditional Kung Fu tea as well as many other yummy blends.

It's a great group and growing. It's so nice to have a wide variety of people there. Youngsters, teachers, singers.

It's so nice to have a place to get away and talk. Traditional Chinese music in the background and people to discuss things with.

Please send healing light and prayers (or whatever your spiritual path tends to do) to my friend KansasRose as her mother is having some health issues. Though we have never met face to face she has been with me through thick and thin for over 5 years. THAT is a friend!

Reading Group

Just got back. It's late so I will post more on this tomorrow.
